Last weekend I hosted the first ever Miami TOP GUN Training Academy with my fellow Marketing Partners of our Direct Sales company, Gregg Davison and Michael Force. We had 40 people in from all over the US and even a few from abroad (Switzerland, England, Canada). This was a private event for only our team members and for two days we literally opened our Internet Marketing play books. We gave our attendees a bundle of information on what it really takes to be successful in Direct Sales in the New Economy.

I'm not sure if they were expecting it to be this "raw" and "uncut" but it was. More on that in a moment. Here's a pic below of me kicking off the event (more cool pics below)...



In gathering video testimonials from the attendees at the end of the event, I noticed "one" specific thing that came up over and over again as their "one" BIG takeaway. And it's probably not what you think. In this week's blog post, I'm gonna share with you exactly what that "one" thing was...

Ok, so onto this "one" big takeaway our team members got from our Miami TOP GUN Training Academy last weekend....

You might be thinking it was a new wiz bang traffic source, a cool "hot" new lead source, or a shiny new web site plug in, or the next great "underground" social media tactic.

And you'd be wrong...  ;)

That's stuff is important, for sure. Marketing is the engine that powers your business. Always has been, always will be. But at the end of the day... there's really nothing new under the sun. So what was this "one" big takeaway?

"Clarity."

Clarity is the engine that powers your daily production, your enthusiasm to stick it out when the going gets tough (as it will be at times). Clarity is your fuel. No different than fuel for your car. A gorgeous Ferrari will sit in the driveway and never, ever move with no fuel in it. What good is it then? I often call it the "awesome power of clarity."

What do I mean here? What is Clarity?
  • Knowing what you want by when (date and deadline is key)

  • Knowing what you don't want (a biggie, often missed)

  • Knowing exactly the income you expect to make (notice the word "expect")

  • Knowing exactly what you want your business to look like, which ultimately determines what your life will look like (most don't connect the two. If they did they wouldn't have a job, they'd have a business)


Ever thought about this? Most don't....

We started the event with one hour of helping our attendees get "clear" about these four items. No Internet Marketing talk, no traffic talk, no Network Marketing talk, no lead generation talk. None of it matters if you're not clear on WHY the heck you're doing what you are doing. For everyone it's different. We're all driven by different things. Your business is simply a "means to an end."

Here's one thing I do know for sure after training and coaching thousands of Direct Sales Entrepreneurs over the years...

Most, are very fuzzy about what they want and what the "expect" to get from their business and from their life. They set the bar pretty low. And they get exactly that. I was always taught that you tend to "get what you expect" in life. Hmmm....

The flip side of this...

Getting clear, gaining clarity about your business, your income and your life is VERY liberating. And VERY powerful. It creates extreme focus. It toughens. It makes you more persistent - All things missing from the unsuccessful.

How about you?

Why not grab a piece of plain white paper and take my little quiz and answer the above four questions? It's exactly what I had our Miami TOP GUN Training Academy attendees do to kick off the event. And when it was all said and done... 90% of them said gaining this new found clarity was the "one" big thing they took from the event. The Internet Marketing and lead generation strategies will follow. Doesn't work the other way around. FYI.
